Filiz Bikmen is the Director of Programs and International Relations at the Sabanci Foundation, and represents the foundation on the Governing Council of the European Foundation Center.

She is a Turkish American from New York, living in Istanbul since 1999.
Having started her career as an organizational psychologist and consultant, Filiz has been working with foundations and NGOs to promote social justice and philanthropy in Turkey since 2002. Prior to Sabanci, she was Director of TUSEV, Third Sector Foundation of Turkey, a think tank that aims to strengthen the nonprofit sector in Turkey. Filiz is Vice Chairman of the International Center for Not for Profit Law, and is a Fellow of the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society in New York. She lectures regularly at Universities and events in Turkey and abroad, is an author of several publications on subjects related to philanthropy and civil society, and a regular contributor to Alliance Magazine and the Latest from Alliance Blog. She holds an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a dual BS degree in Psychology and Business Communications from SUNY Brockport.
