Emotional Agility

We are all looking forward to getting unstuck, embracing change, and thriving in work and life. But how? 

Emotional agility. We need this skill more than ever today. Yeliz Bahadir, Consultant & Coach at Management Center led us through an insightful event where we learned about this very important skill. 

Yeliz took us through a wonderful journey! We first learned what emotional agility is. According to Susan David, emotional agility is a process that enables us to navigate life’s twists and turns with self-acceptance, clear-sightedness, and an open mind.  If we learn ways we perceive our thoughts, we can become self-aware and embrace change. Yeliz gave us tips on how to listen to our inner voice and hear our unmet needs. 

After reflecting on Victor Frankl’s wonderful quote above, we learned about the 10 second rule. 10 seconds is enough time to stop the trigger from activating and for your prefrontal cortex to come back online so you can reason.

Stop: We can stop what we do in four dimensions: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. 

Reflect: We can reflect on our reality and perceived reality, inner voices and triggers, our choices and more. 

And then, act! 

We learned incredible tips, a long list of book recommendations and great tricks from Yeliz. We are very grateful for her time and the contributions of our amazing members, TurkishWINners.
