Meet A WINner: Simla Hasanreisoğlu

Following her graduation from German School, Simla obtained her BS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Engineering Management from Bosphorus University. She worked for the Koç Group companies for over 10 years and is now very happy to be a part of TurkishWIN to be and lead the change! She is a proud mother to a 13-year-old and loves to travel and have adventures.

What do you do for a living?

Simla is the Partnerships Lead at TurkishWIN. She coordinates the relationships with all of TurkishWIN's partners and corporate members to co-create with them during their journey. Simla also leads mentoring projects for female entrepreneurs. She is passionate about women's empowerment.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

One thing you wish you had known earlier in your career.

Don't be afraid of making mistakes, these show you the way to be better. Try and fail, if you need to, but never give up.

What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?

Ziplining :) Actually, I would like to skydive but haven't had the chance yet.

If you could have any three people (dead or alive) over for dinner – who would they be?

Atatürk, Elon Musk, and Josh Holloway

Who are your role models?

I don't have any specific role models but admire all successful and happy women.

Name a book you read that positively shaped you.

I read a lot of novels, and each of them adds something to me.

You believe in sisterhood at work because…

everyone needs support!

If you had one superpower, what would it be?

Stop wars. I can not believe that mankind still gets into wars to feel satisfied with themselves.

Your advice to the next generation of professional women from your learnings.

Be ready for your future and do whatever you want to!

If you had a time machine, to which era would you want to travel in time? Past or future and why?

I would travel to the Future - as I mentioned before, I love adventures and I wonder a lot!
